Kayhi Soccer Team improved community health care by raising over $20,000 for the Women's Diagnostic Center and an injured teammate's medical treatment following a car crash.

Robin McKenzie raised the funds to start an animal shelter, known as "Heart Fur Animals”.

Michelle Sybouts organized a program for the Homeless Veteran Shelter. She also creates and sells homemade scarves to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.

Spirit of Youth Board of Directors Government Service

Teslyn Korsmo & Cierra Hahn researched the effects of second hand smoke and successfully lobbied and advocated at school board meetings for a policy prohibiting smoking on school grounds.

Skagway

Ally Beischer serves as a full voting member of the Anchorage Municipal Parks and Recreation Commission. She provides a valuable youth perspective on the multiple issues facing the commission.

State of Alaska , Division of Behavioral Health Fine Arts

Nichelle Cushing is the youngest member of Bugles Across America, a civilian group that plays “echo taps” at veteran's funerals. She taught herself to play bugle so she could "properly honor" those who have served.

Palmer

Haley Nelson taught art to first graders, took photos of their work, and organized an art show and auction of the children’s work, donating all the proceeds to a first grader battling leukemia.

Juneau

Alyeska Pipeline Services Overcoming Challenges

Caralyn Cox lost the use of her right arm following a 2005 sledding accident. She now educates her peers about the dangers of inner tubing and sledding.

Devin Helmick is a "challenged" youth who volunteers every week at the Valley Recycling Center .

Anchorage Youth Development Coalition Service to Peers

The “Every 15 Minutes” program hosted a two day event to warn the students about the dangers of mixing alcohol and driving.

Nicole Braman has been a mentor, tutor and teacher at the Boys and Girls club. She organized fundraisers for local families in need of medical assistance and numerous projects that benefit students less fortunate.

Chet Syverson developed a literacy project called "STAR” in which high school students read to younger students on a monthly basis.

Aviva Hirsch volunteers at a domestic shelter helping little kids going through a very rough time in their lives feel loved, understood and cared for.

Andrew Bryner and Reed Tompkins created a feature length film called the Man's Club which focused on boys facing the challenge of becoming a man.

Boy Scout Troop 561 researched, wrote, produced and acted in a movie about the consequences of Meth.
